Beulah Gautney Varnell
Beulah Gautney Varnell, 87, of Rogersville died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at her residence.
She was a life long resident of Rogersville, Alabama and member of Rogersville Church of Christ. She retired from the USDA-ASCS office after 52 years and 4 months.
Mrs. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband James R. Varnell; parents Mr. and Mrs. Rufus E. Gautney; sister Flossie Inez Whitman.
She is survived by two sisters Gerlean Hammond (Kenneth) and Christine Blankenship of Rogersville; brother Clellon Gautney of Anderson; an adopted family David and Connie Olive of Rogersville; two adopted grandsons Michael Olive (Leah) of Rogersville and Matthew Olive (Chandler) of Madison; one adopted granddaughter Jessica Leesburg (Will) of Birmingham, Alabama; two adopted great granddaughters Haiden and Elizabeth Olive of Rogersville; adopted great grandson James Hudson Olive of Madison; and a great number of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Elkins East Chapel from 12-2 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Alex Bayes and Bro. Wendell Gann officiating. Burial will be at Civitan Cemetery in Rogersville.
Pallbearers will be Michael Olive, Matthew Olive, Charles Gautney, Michael Gautney, Wendell Hammond, and Gerald Whitman.
