Obituary for Austeen Junior Davis

Austeen Junior Davis, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Oct.18, 2016.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel. The service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jason Vinson officiating. Burial will follow at Bluewater Cemetery.
Mr. Davis served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from TVA after 26 years of faithful service as a supervisor of the Urea and GCFU Unit. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Davis; two children, Anthony (Celista) Davis, of Lexington, and Angela (Sam) Scoggin, of Tuscumbia; five grandchildren, Patrick (Laurie) Davis, of Killen, Kyle (Miranda) Davis, of Rogersville, Cecilia (Eric) Brumley, of Rogersville, Crista (Doug) Corley, of Lexington, and Cameron Davis, of Lexington; six great-grandchildren, Justice, Valor, Evelyn, and Stella Davis and Tripp and Piper Corley; one sister, Ann (Benny) White, of Arab; brother-in-law, Pete Collier and wife, Nell,; sister-in-law, Sue Collier; and special lifelong friends, Herbert and Verta Mae Peters, of Loretto, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Cameron Davis, Doug Corley, Eric Brumley, Mark Holmes, Twymine Collier, and Lance Collier. Honorary pallbearer will be Herbert Peters.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. McFall and the staff of Alacare Hospice for your love and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions Ministry of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 8880 Co. Rd. 71, Lexington, AL 35648.
