David Leo Eckl
David Leo Eckl age 62 of Florence, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at St. Michaels Catholic Church in St. Florian. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at St Michaels Cemetery, with Father John officiating.
He is preceded in death by his Father James Eckl and his Brother Charles Eckl.
David is survived by his Mom Mary Neil Eckl. His son Matthew Eckl. His daughter Marie Nessen and two grandchildren, Marcy and Charles. Six brothers, Jerry, Tommy, Carl, Paul, Bill and Albert. Four sisters, Theresa, Virgina, Jane and Rose.
He was a member for 40 years with the Mid-Lauderdale Volunteer Fire Department and he also worked for 40 years at Occidental Chemical where he developed many great friendships.
David, our gentle gaint loved children. David’s favorite childrens charity was St. Jude’s. We ask in lieu of flowers to please give to your favorite chilrens charity. We also ask that you never let a child do without Christmas. Make a friend everywhere you go. Try to be strong as a lion yet gentle as a lamb. In short we ask that you keep a little David Eckl in your heart.
