Obituary for William Madison Wallace

Mr. William “Bill” Madison Wallace, 82, of Florence passed away Friday, July 7th , 2017 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. A Family Service will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church with interment to follow. Rev. Dr. Foster Eich will be officiating, Elkins funeral home is assisting the family

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth “Beth” Bomar Wallace, parents; Chester Clyde Wallace and Autie Rae Wallace of Andalusia, Al.

William is survived by his sons; William “Bo” Madison Wallace Jr. (Bailey) of Houston, Texas, Paul Bomar Wallace (Lisa) of Florence, grandchildren; Paul Bomar Wallace Jr., William Sims Wallace, Catherine Elizabeth Wallace, Tyler Madison Wallace, and Abigail Mackenzie Wallace, and three wonderful nephews.

Mr. Wallace served in the United States Air Force. He attended Emory University and earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in business administration. He was a Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter, CLU. He was an active member of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, and involved in many community organizations including West Way Child Development and Safe Place.

He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He loved people. His life was focused on taking care of others.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church or the local charity of your choice.
