Obituary for Thomas Newton McClanahan

Thomas Newton  McClanahan
Thomas N. McClanahan, 89, of Florence passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his home. Visitation will be held at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence Friday, December 8, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. Until 12:00 P.M. A service will follow in the chapel at 12:00 P.M. Rev. Dean Olive will be officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Iron City,Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Ida McClanahan; and brother, J.C. “Mac” McClanahan Jr.

He was survived by his sisters, Martha Bowen, and Orpah Hagler (Melvin); brothers Johnny McClanahan (Nancy) , Othel McClanahan; sister in law , Earline McClanahan and many nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Community Freewill Baptist Church and worked as a farmer all his life.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Tamara Butler, also the staff at Hospice of North Alabama.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Kruzn for a Kure Foundation P.O. Box 2752 Muscle Shoals, Al; In support of Mr. McClanahan’s Great Niece and Nephew.
