Pastors Chuck Hood and Scott Fowler will be officiating. Burial will be at Spring Creek Church Cemetery. Anne was a respected teacher and retired from the Alabama school system but continued to teach her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to love reading, literature, and how to love and follow her beloved Savior. A gift from her usually was a book, something she found might help or lift one’s spirits or help through troubling times. She also enjoyed teaching at Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church youth and adult classes. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know Anne was very familiar with her whistling, infectious sense of humor, and selfless giving. As one friend said, she made every moment fun! She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Bill Hood, children, Becky Rios (Norman), Betsy Wood, Chuck Hood (Julie), and Mary Anne Aanestad (Jeff), 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The Family would like to thank Hospice services for their kind and thorough care during Anne’s illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Casa Para Ninos Aleluya children’s orphanage in Guatamala(casaaleluya.org),Alzheimer’s Association (Alz.org), or to Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church (30940 Persimmon Tree Rd. Anderson, Al 35610).
