Obituary for Joseph Brinkley "Brink" Norton

Joseph Brinkley “Brink” Norton, age 51, died peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2015, in his Huntsville home.

Brink grew up in Florence and was a 1982 graduate of Coffee High School. He attended UNA and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a long-time employee of Reed Camper Sales in Huntsville. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Auburn fan. He enjoyed music and loved playing the guitar. Brink will be remembered for his loving heart and gentle spirit by his family and friends.

The service to remember Brink’s life will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Elkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Parker Smith and Rev. Robert Sparkman officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens following the service.

Brink was preceded in death by his mother Marjorie Norton and is survived by his father, Bert Norton; sisters Charlotte Sandlin, Rebecca Mardis and husband Blaine, and Kathy Granberry; a nephew Wesley Sandlin; nieces Ashley Smith and husband Parker, Katie Leigh Mardis, Mary Katherine Granberry, and Laura Granberry and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Sandlin, Clay Norton, Larry Reed, Johnny Mares, Bruce Branks and Mike Haggard. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Dill, Al Ford, and Gene Crane.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the building fund of the First United Methodist Church of Florence.

Steve Chenault and Elkins Funeral Home are assisting the family.
