Obituary for
Bobby Larry Ivey Sr.
Bobby Larry Ivey, Sr., 74, of Florence passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at his home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Bro. Alvin Thigpen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Cypress Inn, TN.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Sue Ivey; children, Larry Ivey (Brenda), Samuel Ivey, John Ivey, Donnie Ivey (Jenny), Ann Littleton (James), Brenda Cook (Joey), Betty Hinton (B.J.), and Tonya Brown (Dennis); 24 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and sister, Janie Staggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cora Ivey; brothers, Ellis Ivey, Paul Ivey, L.C. Ivey, and Franklin Ivey; sister, Betty Hamilton; daughter, Susan Ivey; granddaughter, Tiffany Ivey; and best friend, Jerry Swinea.
Pallbearers will be Noah Sherrod, Nick Hinton, Mickey Frost, Jerry Littleton, Andrew Littleton, and Gaylon Ivey. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Frost and B.J. Hinton.
Special thanks are given to Dr. Wampler, Greenhill Family Clinic, Gentiva Home Health and nurse Victoria Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
