Obituary for Joseph Nicholas Pampinto

Joseph Nicholas Pampinto age 69 of Florence passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Visitation will be on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence with graveside services to follow at 11:30 A.M. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph F. Pampinto and Saraphine Pampinto and his granddaughter Angela.

Joseph is survived by his son Joseph E. Pampinto of Muscle Shoals. Grandchildren, Payton, Parker and granddaughter Amy. His brother Raymond Pampinto and wife Patti of Somerset New Jersey and children Ginger, Michele, Sara. Joseph also leaves behind a special friend Bridget and his beloved dog “Mo”.

Joseph was a native of Elizabeth, New Jersey but has resided in the Shoals for over 45 years. He attended Catholic High School in New Jersey graduating with honors and was on the all county baseball team. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and received a degree from the University of North Alabama. Joseph served our nation in the United States Air Force and saw combat in the Vietnam War. In the early 1970’s, Joseph married and moved to the Shoals and began a nearly 30 year career with Reynolds Metals/Wise Alloys before retiring and spending much time traveling and spending time with friends and family.
