Flood of 1973

Suffice it to say, with the rising water of the flood of 1973, many people were displaced. At ten years old, I found the flood to be an adventure, my folks not so much. Our home was a part of the river. Were it not for two jonboats and two sheets of 8x8 plywood to haul our furniture down river, we would have been left with nothing. Thankfully, my Uncle Bud welcomed us to his home. Imagine nine people living under one roof for the duration of the record flood. This is one of the most loving stories I can share.
