Mary Evelyn H. Moomaw
Mary Evelyn Moomaw age 92 of Florence passed away on Saturday, December 16, 1017 at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence. Services will follow at 1:00 P.M in the chapel of Elkins. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Marvin Moomaw, parents Johnny R. and Bertha E. Holt and one brother, Douglas Holt.
Mary Evelyn is survived by three daughters: Pamela Dearing (Dennis), Melanie Higgins (Marion) and Marilyn Pannell (Tim). Five grandchildren: Lorie Freitas (Paul), William Davis (Michelle), Justin Pannell (Sylvia), Daniel Pannell (Anna) and Rebecca Higgins. Six great-grandchildren: Rowan Freitas, Savannah Davis, Sawyer Davis, Chloe Pannell, Coby Pannell and due to arrive in April 2018, Micah Pannell. Additional survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is a long time member of College View Church of Christ, attended Athens High School, Athens, AL and graduated from Florence State Teacher’s College (UNA).
Pallbearers will be son-in-laws and grandsons.
