Aunt Teola was by far my favorite! I grew up in Texas and didn't get to see her very often. But I always looked forward to her visits. They were the highlight of my childhood. She was so beautiful. Always dressed to impress and had her hair just right. I remember she would sing and laugh and was always full of joy. I looked up to her and always wished she were my mom instead of my aunt.
One summer I got to go home to Alabama with her and stay for a few the summer. We would go riding around town when she got off work and we would stay up late watching tv. Our favorte meal was a mustard whopper with cheese. Those were the good ole days...riding around listening to the radio and eating my mustard whopper with my beautiful aunt.
One year she came to Houston in her motorhome. We sat out in that motorhome every night and had a slumber party...even though we had a perfectly good house to be in. lol! It was like camping to us. So many laughs. We even drove it to Baskin Robbins every night to get ice cream.
I know she led a good life and had many friends. Everyone loved her. I only wish I could be there to share with everyone how beautiful she was and all the good she left behind. I will send prayers from Texas...as always. And she will be added to the list of angels I think of whenever I see a feather.
