Tied with a rope

I met Ms Teola the first time I played at Mitchelle Hollingsworth, about 2002.  After the program she came up and asked me which Darling boy I was and I replied the third one down. She then told me how Punch (my mothers nickname) would bring us boys (and my baby sister) shopping with her to Kroger. A rope would be tied around her waist and then around each of us boys (mom would be holding my sister) to keep us from wandering off and getting into trouble. That would have been in the late 50s. She told me about music my dad would play with so many others on the poarch of our home infront of 7 Points Shopping Center.

She also graduated with my Aunt Mary Long who now lives in Idaho. Over the years I would take pictures of her and carry them to Aunt Mary when I would visit her in Idaho and bring back pictures of her to show Ms. Teloa. I loved seeing how each one would inspect the photos remembering so many stories and memories each would have of the other.

You impacted my life Ms Teloa, I will forever be a better man because of it.
